Session Description
This interactive discussion will review the increased incidence of congenital syphilis in the state of Connecticut (CT). We will review the signs and symptoms of congenital syphilis and the management of babies born to women with syphilis. Next we will discuss congenital CMV and the state plans to test all newborn babies in CT starting in July 2025. We will assess the evaluation and treatment guidelines for babies who screen positive for CMV and how to best prepare for universal CMV screening.
