On January 8th, the CT General Assembly will be back in session. Legislative advocacy presents a critical opportunity for pediatricians from across the state to use their voices to advocate for the health and well-being of CT’s children.
State-level laws and policies greatly impact children’s health. The CT AAP Chapter’s 2025 legislative priorities include, but are not limited to:
- Creation of a CT Child Tax Credit
- Expansion of Free School Meals
- Expansion of Medicaid Coverage for Undocumented Children
- Protection of Reproductive Rights and Access to Care
- Protection of Gender-Affirming Care
If you are interested in advocacy and would like to get more involved with the Chapter, please consider attending the CT-AAP Advocacy Committee annual meeting via Zoom on January 13th at 6 PM. We will be discussing plans for the session and ways to get involved.
