Nutrition Benefits for Dually Eligible Families

This webinar, presented by Jody Terranova, DO, MPA, Medical Director for Medicaid (and former DPH Deputy Commissioner), and developed in partnership with DSS- HUSKY/Medicaid, DPH-WIC Program and WIC’s Medical Advisor, will assist pediatric providers, as well as other professionals caring for dually enrolled families to identify and manage access to critical medical nutrition benefits to support appropriate growth and development. Focused on current federal and state regulations, scientific literature and recommendations from the AAP and other expert groups, this webinar will provide the “how to” aspects to assist families dually enrolled in HUSKY/Medicaid and WIC to navigate the process for prescription benefits and promote coordination and continuity of care between clinical providers and federally funded public health and nutrition programs.

AAP members and others will benefit from attending the webinar, by getting up-to-date information from HUSKY/Medicaid and WIC Program experts to reduce barriers for families and to increase compliance with prescribed medically necessary specialized/exempt infant formulas and/or medical foods. The session will include brief/quick resources and additional information for those seeking a deeper familiarity with the topic.
