Megan Ratchford, MD

Biosketch

I am nominating myself for an at-large Board of Director seat. I certify that I am currently in good standing with both local and national AAP and that I can make the time commitment of quarterly evening meetings for the chapter.

I received my medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and completed my pediatric residency at the University of Connecticut/CT Children’s Medical Center.

My involvement with the CT chapter of the AAP started as a resident delegate during my pediatric residency and I am currently finishing up my first term as an at-large member of the Board of Directors. I also currently serve as co-chair of the chapter’s Mental Health subcommittee.

During my first term as an at-large board member I have helped the chapter become more financially stable and have helped to reform our policies and bylaws.  Additionally, I have spent the past 15 years working at Federally Qualified Health Centers in Connecticut and have served in leadership roles. I have spent my career advocating for the medically underserved children of Connecticut and I believe that continuing my current role on Board of Directors will help me be able to further that advocacy.

I believe that I bring good leadership, insight and experience to the Board and am looking to help the chapter to continue to evolve and grow.
