CT-AAP Webinar: Innovations in Early Autism Screening: Introducing EarliPoint™ at Easterseals Connecticut
Now offering objective, eye-tracking assessment for toddlers ages 16–30 months
Summary: Despite growing awareness of autism, most children are not diagnosed until after age 4, missing critical opportunities for early intervention. This webinar introduces providers to EarliPoint™, a new, evidence-based tool now offered at Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern CT for the early identification of autism in children ages 16 to 30 months. Participants will learn about the importance of early detection, how EarliPoint™ uses objective eye-tracking data to assess social visual engagement, and how to refer families for comprehensive developmental evaluation. The session will also review key steps in the evaluation process and highlight how providers can support families in accessing timely diagnostic services.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe how EarliPoint™ technology works, including its use of eye-tracking to assess social visual engagement and its role in early autism detection for toddlers ages 16–30 months.
- Explain the clinical importance of early identification of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and how objective tools like EarliPoint™ can improve outcomes during a critical developmental window.
- Outline the evaluation process at Easterseals, including the intake, assessment, feedback, and referral steps, and describe how pediatric providers can support timely access to care.
